IF I WERE THE WEATHER!

If I were a raindrop, I would be all wet.

I would splatter in a puddle every chance I'd get.

If I were a raindrop, I would fall upon the ground.

Each place I soaked into the soil, a flower would be found.

If I were a snowflake, I would be all white.

I'd fall to earth so silently in the dark of night.

If I were a snowflake, I'd hope that I could be

Made into a snowman for all the kids to see.

If I were the wind, I would blow across the seas.

I would blow clothes on the clothesline and blow through all the trees.

If I were the wind, I would take a giant puff,

And blow the children's kites up high until they'd had enough.

If I were a heat wave, I'd make everything really hot.

I;d make everybody thirsty, and they would sweat a lot.

If I were a heat wave, I would make everything really dry.

I'd have people wishing for a rain cloud in a cloudless sky.

If I were a blot of lighting, I would make a quite flash,

And watch the people run for cover when the rain began to splash.

If I were a blot of lighting, I would make everyone wonder

How far away I was while they waited for my thunder.

If I were a puffy cloud, I'd stretch and move around.

And make all kinds of silly shapes to look at from the ground.

It I were puffy cloud, I would shade the sun.

I'd shade the workers in the fields until their work was done.

If I were the morning dew I would kiss every blake of grass.

I'd make the garden flowers sparkle like a looking glass.

If I were the morning dew, I'd visit everyday,

And when the sun warmed me enough, I'd simply fade away.

It I were the weather, I wish wish.... I would make each day just right.

It would be spring in the daytime and autumn every night.

If I were the weather, there would be no storms at sea,

But I can't be any of these things so I'll be happy to be ME!
